12:40 ruben48 happy new year dataverse team :)
12:40 ruben48 I have a Shibboleth question regarding dataverse.no
12:43 ruben48 If you look at https://dataverse.no/Shibboleth.sso/DiscoFeed , are the DisplayNames listed the only possible values of "Affiliation" when a user is created?
13:10 pdurbin ruben48: Happy New Year! Yes, this was developed in https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/issues/1497
13:12 ruben48 Ok, I read that one already
13:13 pdurbin As you may have noticed, OAuth users can change their affiliation. Someday we'd like to change Shib to be more like this.
13:13 ruben48 So if I want affiliation in dataverse to be like the domain from "eppn", changes in the code is necessary?
13:14 ruben48 Yes, I saw the affiliation input field when working on OAuth integration
13:15 pdurbin You want a domain name as an affilation? "harvard.edu" rather than "Harvard"?
13:17 ruben48 The problem is that in our Shibboleth integration, only one option is displayed in the dataverse log in form, then the user is redirectet to the identity provider and here organization is choosed
13:17 ruben48 so two different organizations get the same affiliation in dataverse
13:19 ruben48 if you go to "dataverse.no > log in > choose FEIDE > continue" you see what I mean
13:19 ruben48 if you go to "dataverse.no > log in > choose FEIDE > continue" you see what I mean

13:20 ruben4839 got disconnected
13:20 ruben4839 if you go to "dataverse.no > log in > choose FEIDE > continue" you see what I mean
13:24 pdurbin ruben4839: there's a memory leak in the web interface I set up for this IRC channel. That's probably why you were disconnected. Someone should create an issue about this at https://github.com/IQSS/chat.dataverse.org/issues
13:25 pdurbin ruben4839: right, this reminds me a lot of surfconnect or whatever in the Netherlands: https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/issues/2548
13:26 pdurbin That is to say, there's a similar user experience at both https://dataverse.nl and https://dataverse.no
13:36 pdurbin Anyway, I'm going to bike in through the snow. Wish me luck: https://plus.google.com/+PhilDurbin/posts/ZRABSKghXtS
13:37 ruben4839 seems like the same amount that we have here :)
13:37 ruben4839 I also ride an electric bike to work when the schedule alows it :)
13:38 ruben4839 also, I think I have the information I need on the log in issue, thanks!
14:36 pdurbin ruben4839: great to hear. Is the change to the code you're planning to make useful for other installations of Dataverse?

18:15 Thalia_UM HI philip i have a question
18:17 Thalia_UM when adding a dataset, the form that appears is short, since when editing and dataset shows more fields, Can i  make the form more extensive when creating a dataset, that is, with more fields?
18:27 pameyer joined #dataverse
18:29 pameyer Thalia_UM: there's a display on create flag in the TSV; you can change that to have additional fields show up on the create dataset page
18:31 Thalia_UM Where is the TSV?
18:31 Thalia_UM I don't understand it
18:32 pameyer there are several TSV files that are included in the installer, these can be loaded or reloaded with API calls
18:32 pameyer there's one TSV file for each metadata block
18:34 pameyer does that help?
18:35 pdurbin pameyer: I hope we renamed that column to be more clear what it does
18:36 pameyer pdurbin: it seemed reasonably clear to me when I was doing a custom block
18:37 Thalia_UM Are files with tsv extension?
18:37 pameyer yup
18:37 pameyer citation.tsv, etc
18:38 pdurbin It makes me think of the "Required/Optional" toggle under Edit -> General Information -> Metadata Fields. I wonder if we should expose that column ("displayoncreate") in the UI. At least it has a good name now. Here it is: http://phoenix.dataverse.org/schemaspy/latest/tables/datasetfieldtype.html
18:40 pdurbin I mean, if it's available in the UI, it doesn't require hacking on tsv files.
