Hello there, instead of direct access of data i want to put terms of use in the middle for api call, eg this will allow me to download the file directly https://dataverse.harvard.edu/api/access/datafile/3101963 what i am looking for is to redirect to the terms of use instead.In our case when i use the download button it prompt me with the "terms of use" but via api it directly download the file

pdurbin: exactly that's my issue too. in-fact in #2911 and #3331 the concern is more of the download count but it in-line with mine

soU: do you think accepting terms of use (or filling out a guestbook) should only be possible from the Dataverse web interface? Now and then I dream of making *all* functionality in Dataverse available via API . That's why I opened https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/issues/3440

pdurbin:I don't think it should be only from the web interface, this is the reason we are facing this issue. instead it would be better the guestbook and accepting terms of use can be done through some arguments for the api. I agree with #3440

soU: it only appears in the SWORD "service document" http://guides.dataverse.org/en/4.8.5/api/sword.html#retrieve-sword-service-document . Kind of weird. It should probably be available via the "native" API (in JSON format rather than XML ) somewhere.

It is about the structure of the sections in the page of dataset.xhtml when it says / Files / Metadata / Versions / Terms
