Interesting. I feel like it's more common to hear of migrating in the other direction, from GitHub to GitLab.

That's true :D, but since we decided to be open-source fork too, we migrated issues to github too. But tbh i prefer kanban board on gitlab, on gitlab you can create an issue directly on board, on GH not really it's just "viewing" board..

We started using Waffle before GitHub's kanban board feature was available. Waffle has more features and it's free so we're sticking with Waffle for now.

Anyway, I really appreciate that you've open sourced your fork. And I love being able to see your kanban board. I'm always interested in which issues are most important to people using Dataverse. So thank you!

Yeah I don't really see many reasons to ever migrate boards, it has simple job, so maybe if other board had some really usefull feature but can't think of any :P.

Are you planning on creating issues for some of these under the IQSS repo?

We decided for a fork since we had to had momentum in terms of merging to develop and we are going to have some very specific, complex tasks which is possible that you will never need them. But If there are some overall "architectual" improvments like you saw changing the way dataverse is deployed, then I can always mention if you would like it.

Well, I'm open to any sort of issue. Architecture issues, user-facing issues like your "Add possibility to view license information for individual files".

pdurbin: More time will pass it will be harder to migrate since for example we will have already working version of resolved issue, but if I PR to you guys you may have different view. And if I change it, it will create problems in future issues for merging.

Like first thing which is already different is flyway, we are not in production yet se we decided to completely disable eclipse-link generating tables. And we solely depend on flyway generating everything now.
