18:31 pdurbin donsizemore: knock knock
18:33 pdurbin I'm thinking about Java 11 and just opened https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse-ansible/issues/39
18:41 donsizemore @pdurbin excellent. p.s. i'm hoping to hop back on the sampledata train
18:43 pdurbin donsizemore: cool. Do you happen to know the name of the Java 11 RPM? I already upgraded to CentOS 7.6 which is where Java 11 support was added, according to https://access.redhat.com/articles/1299013

18:51 donsizemore @pdurbin looking...
18:52 donsizemore java-11-openjdk-headless
18:52 pdurbin donsizemore: I *think* we want java-11-openjdk-devel ... I just pushed this to a branch: https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse-ansible/commit/b2f9118
18:52 pdurbin oh. headless?
18:52 donsizemore was wondering about devel
18:53 pdurbin I assume we still need devel but I don't really know. Should someone using dataverse-ansible be able to choose between Java 8 and Java 11?

19:18 donsizemore @pdurbin sounds fine by me. when will dataverse proper support it?
19:19 pdurbin good question :)
19:20 donsizemore i can add it as a group_var very easily
19:21 pdurbin ok, please feel free to make a new branch
19:30 donsizemore @pdurbin also, do you think the postgres version should be a group_var or should i hard-code to match 9.6 per release?
19:31 pdurbin I think we hint pretty strongly that only Postgres 9.6 is supported but I don't remember.
19:32 donsizemore @pdurbin I remember an issue thinking that it may be required now(!)
19:33 pdurbin "Version 9.x is required. Previous versions have not been tested."
19:33 pdurbin "Version 9.6 is anticipated as an “LTS” release in RHEL and on other platforms"
19:34 pdurbin http://guides.dataverse.org/en/4.10.1/installation/prerequisites.html#postgresql
19:34 pdurbin all the yum examples use 9.6
19:34 pdurbin strong hint :)
19:39 pameyer a little late to the java11 party, but I'm pretty sure you need the devel package to get javac
19:41 pdurbin Good point. And we still build the war file with Ansible.
19:45 donsizemore @pdurbin about to make a 9.6 PR; I assigned you the Java 11 PR
19:54 pdurbin donsizemore: thanks. I just mentioned your new Java 11 branch at https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/issues/5512#issuecomment-462909563
19:55 pdurbin Any interest in hacking on ec2-create-instance.sh to add the ability to choose the branch on the dataverse-ansible side?
20:14 donsizemore @pdurbin yes i can do that
20:35 donsizemore @pdurbin actually, if you want to glance at my pull request (defaults to 1.8.0, can be overwritten) we don't even need to modify ec2-create
20:57 donsizemore @pdurbin p.s. i just assigned you another PR to review
