08:33 pkiraly package changes: postgresql/xenial-pgdg,xenial-pgdg 12+213.pgdg16.04+1 all [upgradable from: 12+210.pgdg16.04+1]

08:33 pkiraly postgresql-common/xenial-pgdg,xenial-pgdg 213.pgdg16.04+1 all [upgradable from: 210.pgdg16.04+1]
08:33 pkiraly postgresql-contrib/xenial-pgdg,xenial-pgdg 12+213.pgdg16.04+1 all [upgradable from: 12+210.pgdg16.04+1]
08:34 pkiraly I would like to roll back, but I don't know how. I tried
08:34 pkiraly sudo apt-get install postgresql=12+210.pgdg16.04+1
08:34 pkiraly it returns an error message: "Version '12+210.pgdg16.04+1' for 'postgresql' was not found"
08:35 pkiraly anyone has an idea?

11:38 donsizemore @poikilotherm wow, https://www.testcontainers.org/modules/localstack is great!
11:38 poikilotherm Hi donsizemore
11:38 poikilotherm Yeah, testcontainers is a really great lib
11:39 donsizemore @pkiraly which version of the JDBC driver is your Dataverse instance using? They just released 42.2.12 https://jdbc.postgresql.org/

12:14 hblancoca Hi for all
12:15 hblancoca its possible upload Geodataverse (Argis) dataset to Dataverse?
12:22 pkiraly donsizemore: Meantime it was solved. I uninstalled postgress v12, and went back to 9.6. How can I find the JDBC version?

12:55 donsizemore @pkiraly it's usually under $GLASSFISH_HOME/glassfish/lib/ currently distributed at version 42.2.9
12:56 donsizemore @pkiraly my suspicion is that you just need a newer version of the postgresql jar for glassfish to use the newest postgresql-server
13:04 pkiraly joined #dataverse
13:31 donsizemore @pkiraly I successfully tested the 42.2.12 JDBC driver against IQSS' default Postgres 9.6, am running against Postgres 12 now.
13:38 pkiraly donsizemore: how do you figure out the current JDBC driver version? Where is it defined? Within Dataverse or somewhere in the operating system?
13:55 donsizemore @pkiraly it's usually under $GLASSFISH_HOME/glassfish/lib/ currently distributed at version 42.2.9
13:55 donsizemore @pkiraly my suspicion is that you just need a newer version of the postgresql jar for glassfish to use the newest postgresql-server
13:56 donsizemore @pkiraly dataverse-wise, it lives in https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/tree/develop/scripts/installer/pgdriver and gets packaged in dvinstall.zip
13:56 donsizemore @pkiraly you can stop glassfish, swap out the jar for a newer one, and start glassfish
14:07 pkiraly donsizemore, Thanks for the help!

14:30 dataverse-UR Hello guys, I'm trying to make a dev environment of dataverse, however I'm having some issues:
14:30 dataverse-UR 1. The dataverse installation worked just fine, but once I login as admin and click a link inside the platform dataverse redirects me to the login page or closes my session out of nowhere.
14:31 dataverse-UR 2. I've tried to restore the database of my development environment with a dump of the prod database but once I do this, the URL where my development dataverse is deployed doesn't show datavarse anymore... it only shows the "glassfish is running" page.
14:31 dataverse-UR Can you guys tell me if there's a workaround for this issues that I'm having? Thanks!
14:32 donsizemore hello =) on 1) are you behind an apache proxy? (and what do you have set for the dataverse.siteurl jvm-option)
14:33 donsizemore 2) you'll see that page when dataverse is no longer deployed. do an "asadmin list-applications" and if nothing is deployed, deploy again (on top of your existing test DB is fine)
14:34 dataverse-UR where can I see the ataverse.siteurl jvm-option?
14:39 donsizemore probably /usr/local/glassfish4/glassfish/domains/domain1/config/domain.xml
14:39 donsizemore it may not be there by default but you'll want to set it
14:46 dataverse-UR ok I just checked and there is no dataverse.siteurl neither on my domain.xml of the production server nor the one of the development server
14:46 dataverse-UR however the prod dataverse is working like a charm
14:54 donsizemore some functionality requires siteurl; the codebase is in-between siteurl and fdqn
14:55 dataverse-UR Ok i just chcked manually and it was under Ddataverse.siteUrl on production but it was not declared on the dev server
14:55 dataverse-UR changing it now!
14:56 donsizemore it may not fix things but you'll need it eventually
15:43 dataverse-UR Ok... I changed the jvm-option and now my url is showing the "Your server is running" page
15:43 dataverse-UR i did "asadmin list-applications" and dataverse is deployed
16:38 donsizemore @dataverse-UR if you're getting the generic glassfish page something went wrong. what about curl http://localhost:8080 from on-host?
16:48 dataverse-UR I had to redeploy the war file... i'm seeing something funny in the url behaviour when I Login
16:49 dataverse-UR it seems to be working with a session ";jsessionid=2054c552c505f3770b048e4d5254", I said funny because our production environment doesn't behave like this at all
16:53 donsizemore are you seeing jsessionid in your browser or with curl?
17:11 dataverse-UR in my browser
17:31 donsizemore what version are you running? you might just drop a note to support@dataverse.org
17:33 dataverse-UR v4.9.4
17:33 dataverse-UR perfect, should I send a detailed email to support@dataverse.org?
17:36 donsizemore they'll want your server.log (though you've undeployed and redeployed a few times)
17:37 dataverse-UR Ok ... thank you very much for taking the time to help me
17:38 dataverse-UR Have a great weekend
