13:34 pdurbin :)
13:38 pdurbin poikilotherm: graphviz question
13:53 donsizemore @pdurbin poikilotherm is off for two weeks (moving?)
13:53 pdurbin oh
13:53 pdurbin thanks :)
13:54 donsizemore @pdurbin well, he says vacation, now that i look again. but that may be a vacation to move
13:54 pdurbin a working vacation
13:55 pdurbin It snowed Saturday morning but just flurries. How are things?
14:00 donsizemore things here are fine so far as i know. supposed to hit 86F on Thursday and i'm ready for it
14:01 pdurbin wow
14:03 donsizemore in an unrelated note, i've broken dataverse in my production template branch and i'm not sure how
14:06 pdurbin sorry to hear that
14:08 donsizemore it's weird. if i curl the homepage on localhost it displays. from my laptop here at home i get an ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException
14:09 pdurbin Is this the develop branch?
14:10 donsizemore it's the 4.20 release on payara-5.201
14:11 donsizemore in vagrant, i should clarify. i'm deploying in master now to be sure it isn't a problem in vagrant
14:12 pdurbin Well, we were seeing some ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException errors on Payara. All the known ones have been fixed in develop.
14:13 donsizemore ah, dat wut rong
14:14 pdurbin :)
14:15 pdurbin I hope that fixes it for you.
14:16 donsizemore same behavior - no more 4.20 in payara!
14:18 donsizemore oh, wait. it works in curl but not in chrome. and it works in firefox
14:18 pdurbin Hmm. Maybe you found a bug.
14:18 donsizemore "start with the physical layer" all over again
14:18 donsizemore let me try again in develop
14:19 pdurbin sounds good
14:19 donsizemore (and i need to update chrome first)

14:21 donsizemore21 @pdurbin spinning up develop now to test, may ask for a second pair of eyes later on
14:24 pdurbin okey dokey
14:33 donsizemore21 @pdurbin okay, for real. what's your public ipv4?
14:34 pdurbin 75.69.182.6
14:35 donsizemore21 hit this URL http://irss-dls-buildbox.irss.unc.edu:8080
14:35 pdurbin Done. Should I log in?
14:35 donsizemore21 in chrome?
14:35 pdurbin firefox
14:35 donsizemore21 try chrome
14:35 pdurbin looks the same
14:36 donsizemore21 okay, thanks
14:36 pdurbin sure thing
14:36 pdurbin I have a call. Back in a while.
15:20 pdurbin Back for a bit but design standup soon.

20:51 Kamil78 hi
20:51 pdurbin How's it going, Kamil78?
20:52 Kamil78 I'm doing perf testing right now of Dataverse
20:52 Kamil78 I'm a little bit woried
20:53 Kamil78 Using locust
20:53 pdurbin Should I be worried? :)
20:53 Kamil78 Do you have any hint or some numbers that Dataverse can handle with?
20:54 pdurbin Let me see if the guy who uses Locust more than me is around.
20:54 Kamil78 Tomorrow I'll create a new ticket
20:54 pdurbin Sounds good.
20:55 Kamil78 it's about reloading page when clicking explore causing reload a 3d viewer twice
20:55 Kamil78 but it's not as important as performance right now
20:56 pdurbin Sure.
20:56 Kamil78 Now I can see that 1 instance of Dataverse can maximum handle 10RPS
20:57 pdurbin 10 requests per second? That's it?
20:57 Kamil78 Yes
20:57 Kamil78 Did you achieve better results?
20:58 pdurbin I personally don't do much performance testing, so no.
20:58 pdurbin How much memory did you give the instance?
20:58 Kamil78 96GB and 32cores
20:59 pdurbin wow, a lot
20:59 Kamil78 I have much more :)
20:59 Kamil78 but giving more resources doesn't work
21:00 Kamil78 Do you have any clue?
21:01 pdurbin I don't, sorry. I just run Dataverse on my laptop. I know that in production people tend to use a lot of memory. 96 GB should be more than enough.
21:02 Kamil78 DO you have some numbers how much rps Dataverse in Harvard can handle with in peak?
21:03 pdurbin I don't but if you could email support@dataverse.org that would be great. People more knowledgeable than me about performance might have an answer.
21:04 Kamil78 Thanks a lot, I'm worried a little bit less right now
21:04 pdurbin Good! :) Are you evaluating Dataverse? Do you have it in production already?
21:05 Kamil78 Yes, almost production
21:05 Kamil78 We've got the biodiversity project
21:06 Kamil78 that will turn Dataverse into full blown Biodiversity portal
21:06 pdurbin Nice!
21:06 Kamil78 including external tools with microct and 3d viewers
21:06 Kamil78 You'll hear about that portal soon :)
21:07 pdurbin Oh, right, we talked about darwin core and such over a year ago: http://irclog.iq.harvard.edu/dataverse/2019-04-26#i_91851
21:07 Kamil78 And see yourself how it's working
21:07 Kamil78 yes that's me
21:07 Kamil78 The only thing that worry me is the performance
21:07 Kamil78 I hope it can be resolved somehow
21:07 pdurbin Would you like to talk about your external tool during our upcoming Dataverse Community Meeting in June? I'm one of the co-chairs for a session.
21:08 Kamil78 Yes I can
21:08 pdurbin Great! Can you please email me about it? philip_durbin@harvard.edu
21:09 Kamil78 Ok
21:12 pdurbin Thanks!
21:14 Kamil78 On the wire
21:14 * pdurbin looks
21:16 pdurbin Kamil78: that skull is awesome!
21:16 Kamil78 I can also send you the whole architecture, is is written in other language but there are print screens ;)
21:17 Kamil78 So you'll understand the whole concept and architecture ;)
21:18 pdurbin Sure! I'm happy to look at the pictures. :)
21:18 Kamil78 just let me find it
21:18 pdurbin Here's the session I'm helping to run: "Data Curation Tools/External Tools" https://projects.iq.harvard.edu/dcm2020/breakout-sessions
21:19 Kamil78 uff fortunately it's remotely ;)
21:19 pdurbin Yeah, remote.
21:20 Kamil78 I won't get out of my home right now till the discover the cure
