Hello everyone! I want to ask about the dataverse-ansible role.
14:01
pallingerp
There is a dataverse.filesdir variable defined there, and the script creates it and sets its permissions, but does not seem to use it any other way.

I want to implement multiple file stores. Can I use this variable or is using it a work in progress and there is something ready in one of the branches?

this one? https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse-ansible/blob/master/tasks/dataverse-glassfish.yml#L39
14:03

glassfish uses it if you use a local datastore
14:03
donsizemore
you're welcome to implement multiple file stores, though i suspect glassfish may crab about the directory not being present until you set some other store as its default
14:04
donsizemore
secondly, i've been meaning to look at your pull requests but my real job has taken precedence.

thirdly, there is a dataverse community meeting session on deployment and automated testing options: https://projects.iq.harvard.edu/dcm2020/agenda

Oliver would like to talk about dataverse-k8s, and we're soliciting folks to talk about their use of and plans for deployment and testing. if you're interested?

glassfish does not use it as default datastore
14:07

/usr/local/glassfish5/bin/asadmin list-jvm-options|grep files
14:07
pallingerp
-Ddataverse.files.directory=/usr/local/glassfish5/glassfish/domains/domain1/files
14:08
pallingerp
-Ddataverse.files.file.type=file
14:08

-Ddataverse.files.file.label=file

-Ddataverse.files.file.directory=/usr/local/glassfish5/glassfish/domains/domain1/files

It does choose a default, it just is not the /usr/local/dvn/data that is defined by ansible
14:09
donsizemore
cool, it can probably come out then
14:09
pallingerp
I think this default is hard-coded in dataverse java code
14:09
pallingerp
It would be nice to re-define the datastore in ansible
14:09
donsizemore
i think the idea was to allow setting files.dir to something other than the hard-coded default
14:10
pallingerp
as it might reside on another partition
14:10
pallingerp
ok, then it is not ready yet. I will try to fix that.
14:10
donsizemore
well, it's been there for years, just no one has noticed. PR would be great.
