08:45 stefankasberger @poikilotherm hi!
09:18 poikilotherm Hi stefankasberger
09:18 poikilotherm :-)
09:19 poikilotherm Thx for the invite on GH
09:23 stefankasberger re-done it again. sorry for the issue.
09:23 stefankasberger the repo is my collection of shell scripts with a pre-defined structure and default data.
09:24 stefankasberger for dataverse deployment. maybe this is helpful for dvcli.
09:25 stefankasberger in general, it looks for data in the specific instance folder, if not it looks in resources. scripts is just the collection of all shell calls/activities, which can be done and undone.
09:36 poikilotherm Nice! :-
09:36 poikilotherm :-)

19:37 pameyer so, it turns out that the search API won't reach into custom metadata blocks ... when you forget to set advancedSEARCH to TRUE
19:38 pdurbin ah
19:39 pameyer dataverse is not yet able to read my mind and do what I mean
19:39 pdurbin yet :)
19:40 pdurbin It's nice to have you back, pameyer. How come you have so much Dataverse on the brain?
19:43 pameyer some citable software release stuff got put near to top of the priority list
19:43 pdurbin Gotchat. Do you know who's interested in citable software? poikilotherm
19:43 pdurbin gotcha*
19:43 pameyer :) I saw that he was chatting about it a bit
19:44 poikilotherm You rang a bell
19:44 pameyer software should be citable - discuss? :)
19:44 pameyer just kidding (at least for the moment) - you should be at home relaxing
19:45 poikilotherm pameyer did you see the issue about making the DataCite XML capable to support software as a content type?
19:45 poikilotherm I am at construction site, doing dry wall :-)
19:46 pameyer @poikilotherm I didn't see that (or at least, it didn't register if I was multi-tasking too much while reading it)
19:46 poikilotherm Oh and I am about to create some reusable CI jobs for pushing software releases into Dataverse
19:46 pameyer sounds very similar to what I'm up to
19:47 poikilotherm Ha - maybe we should join forces?
19:48 poikilotherm https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/issues/7077
19:48 pameyer my first instinct is sure - but what I'm working on is very narrow scoped, and my assumption is that you're shooting for a generalizable solution (but my assumptions may be wrong, as always)
19:49 pameyer will take a look, thanks!
19:49 poikilotherm That's the issue. If you're interested, feel very welcome to ping me below. I hope to find some time to do a call sometime soon
19:50 pameyer sounds like a plan
19:50 poikilotherm Well maybe we should talk a bit about what you're up to and then I'll tell you what I'm up to and then we can look what happens?
19:51 poikilotherm Obviously I want some real cool stuff, but I'm trying to do it in chunks. Maybe that would make it more compatible for the both of us?
19:52 poikilotherm Crazy ideas like supporting CodeMeta standard, validation, badges you name it
19:52 poikilotherm But for now I'd be happy to get dvcli going to have a nice tool for scripting that CI job
19:54 poikilotherm Pdurbin you might take a sneak peak on what I worked on this week so far. It's on staging, but it might be interesting. https://apps.fz-juelich.de/fdm/staging/6-data-linking/juelich/data-linking.html
19:56 poikilotherm Pameyer no idea if that's of interest for you too. IIRC it was you / sbgrid with those linked data URLs?
19:56 pameyer I've been re-using some API code for a different integration (datasets automaticly landing in dataverse when they come of an insturment)
19:56 pameyer if it was an sbgrid thing, there's a reasonable chance it was me
19:58 pameyer that was the conversation where I was explaining that diffraction images are kinda images and kinda not images, I think
20:01 poikilotherm Ah yeah now I remember. So maybe that's interesting for you folks.
20:02 poikilotherm Automated data pushing is something we have very few scientists asking for so far. We are very eager of this will change...
20:02 poikilotherm s/of/if/
20:03 poikilotherm pameyer what is your current focus for this? Anything missing from Dataverse? Creating a special metadata block for RSE?
20:08 pameyer ... in a meeting for a few
20:09 pdurbin poikilotherm: I like the animated gifs
20:10 poikilotherm pdurbin I knew you'd say that :-D
20:10 poikilotherm Btw it's APNGs. Smaller and better resolution compared to GIF.
20:12 pdurbin Very nice. Also, I don't know what Freigabe-Diverses are but I want some.
20:13 pdurbin poikilotherm: oh, my new laptop finally came today. I wonder if my kids are done playing with it. They like the emoji button.
20:14 poikilotherm An emoji button? O.O sounds great, I need one, too :-D
20:14 poikilotherm \o/
20:33 pameyer poikilotherm: right now, immediate focus is hooking up one build pipeline to create datasets when software gets released/updated/depreciated
20:33 pameyer custom metadata block, but a very cut-down one
20:34 pameyer automatic data pushing is cryo-em (still biology, but different structural biology)
21:25 pameyer and for future reference / ircbot, advancedSearch=TRUE is less important than not typo'ing the "fq=name:value" syntax (aka - you can use "fq:name:value" all you want, but it won't work
