Hello! is there someone online now? I've a question about data usage that I couldn't find on the website. Please, let me know whether I can ask here or I can send an email to the support.

donsizemore: cert-wrangling and coffee?
13:38
donsizemore
@pameyer I'm good on the certs but will always take up offers of coffee.
13:39
donsizemore
@pameyer I'm not surprised but a little... eh(?) that spam filters now score up http links in the message body

there seems to be more emphasis on security lately, which is good. but some of those efforts seem to focus on things that even at my most paranoid I have difficulty figuring how I'd exploit them
14:13

@pameyer I hear there's a strong market in bogus contact tracing these days.
14:16
donsizemore
@pameyer I was particularly impressed with a phone scam I saw chronicled recently: the scammer manages to match a valid e-mail address with a cell phone on file with a bank, calls the victim.
14:17
donsizemore
@pameyer while reciting their spiel they trigger the 2FA bit needed for password resets, and asks the victim to verify the code over the phone. *poof* account access.
14:17
pameyer
yeah, the scammers are definately iterating these days
14:18
pameyer
the trend of 2fa messages including "no really, we will never ask you for this - if someone does, it's a scam" is probably a good idea

I hadn't heard of fake contract tracing

just occured to me to wonder - I know that large numbers of files can have scalability issues on the datasetpage, but I don't remember hearing about anything similar for versions. any thoughts if that's because I'm not remembering, or because it's not an issue?
19:44
pdurbin
Many, many versions is an issue too.
19:44
pdurbin
It's somewhate mitigated on the Versions tab by lazy loading them.
19:44
pameyer
thanks
19:45
pdurbin
nothing's easy :)
19:45
pameyer
guess I need to do some scaling tests...
19:46
pameyer
I don't _think_ that I'll be hitting limits, but it would be good to have a rough idea of where the limits are
19:47
pdurbin
Yeah, please keep us posted. :)

will do :)
