And second question, what happens when we modify the metadata's content of a published dataset? Is it logged?

@Virgile the usual way to modify metadata fields is to create and publish a new version; in that case, it's "logged" in the sense of version history

I remember some discussion for an api for edits without creating versions, but don't know where those ended up

there is some logging of edits to drafts, but it's not very user facing

my main role in any Globus/Dataverse discussions has been to point out that storage-ids conflicting with posix will cause problems

not currently - we turned off our endpoint during a security tune-up (not getting any use, and too many ports)

but getting files into dataverse with globus might either need duplication of files, renaming that would cause annoyance getting files out, or some other fix

I'm curious to see what they're doing with storage ids - I've been out of the loop enough that there might be a good solution that I don't know about :)

pameyer: it's more like the only copy stays in Globus. And Dataverse is just a catalog. Unless I misunderstood something. In the UI the button for a file said "Download from Globus".
