14:41 poikilotherm Hey pdurbin can you help me with a question?
14:42 poikilotherm I looked at the setting :DisableRootDataverseTheme and its docs
14:42 pdurbin ok
14:42 poikilotherm The docs say: If you have enabled a custom header or navbar logo, you might prefer to disable the theme of the root dataverse. [...]
14:42 poikilotherm Please note: Disabling the display of the root dataverse theme also disables your ability to edit it. Remember that dataverse owners can set their dataverses to “inherit theme” from the root. Those dataverses will continue to inherit the root dataverse theme (even though it no longer displays on the root). If you would like to edit the root dataverse theme in the future, you will have to re-enable it first.
14:44 poikilotherm But looking at http://github.com/poikilotherm/dataverse/blob/51b38c07354671589ea81e97ac32bb8619f816dd/src/main/webapp/dataverse_header.xhtml#L214-L214 and http://github.com/poikilotherm/dataverse/blob/51b38c07354671589ea81e97ac32bb8619f816dd/src/main/webapp/dataverse_footer.xhtml#L12-L12 it looks like it will deactivate for EVERY dataverse andn ot just root
14:44 poikilotherm Did I miss sth and the docs don't lie or are the docs claiming wrong statements? :-D
14:46 pdurbin Please look at isRootDataverseThemeDisabled
14:47 pdurbin It returns false a lot.
14:47 pdurbin It should work as documented.
14:47 poikilotherm Ah!
14:47 poikilotherm That was the missing link
14:47 poikilotherm Thank you
14:47 pdurbin sure
14:48 pdurbin another case where I don't remember being the one to add a feature :)
16:38 poikilotherm pdurbin you might like the new concepts I introduce in https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/pull/7739/files
16:49 poikilotherm I just reached out on IQSS Slack to get some feedback from devs and especially Gustavo, as it feels like there is a good opportunity to refactor some stuff here
17:36 pdurbin Huh, so you're putting all those settings into categories. MaxFileUploadSizeInBytes goes into ConfigScope.UPLOAD.
17:40 pdurbin This is unclear to me: "It does not yet delete the database MPCONFIG source." This is a source that comes with MPCONFIG? Not sure what's going on here.
18:38 poikilotherm No, that's the source I added to our codebase.
18:39 poikilotherm When I tried to create a source that is reading from the settings service and make the settings available to mpconfig.
18:40 poikilotherm Seems not to work reliably and I got the impression it might be hard to convince devs to migrate to mpconfig instead of adding it to the existing ways of consuming condig
18:54 pameyer are you thinking that "unscoped" is for migrating?
19:09 pdurbin Ok, I think I get it. Thanks.

20:04 dataverse-user any help plz :)
20:05 pdurbin Yes, it's long and a bit tricky. I recommend this: https://github.com/GlobalDataverseCommunityConsortium/dataverse-ansible#quickstart
20:07 dataverse-user thanks i will try it
20:08 pdurbin Sure. Where in the installation guide did you get stuck? How can we make it better?
20:16 dataverse-user -bash: ansible-playbook: command not found
20:27 pdurbin Yeah, you have to install Ansible.
