14:50 pdurbin "This ResourceSync specification describes a synchronization framework for the web consisting of various capabilities that allow third party systems to remain synchronized with a server's evolving resources." -- http://www.openarchives.org/rs/0.9.1/resourcesync
14:50 pdurbin (this just hit my radar)
14:51 pdurbin hmm, the SWORD people are apparently involved: http://cottagelabs.com/projects/resourcesync
14:51 pdurbin axfelix: ^^

17:19 axfelix hm!
17:20 pdurbin axfelix: thought you might find that interesting :)
17:21 axfelix looks sensible -- we've been working on some analogous stuff for setting up private LOCKSS instances lately
17:22 axfelix OJS-wise I don't think that having to actually monitor and fire triggers when files are changed is a huge problem for us so we might not be early adopters of resource sync, but I like me some rsync :)
17:22 pdurbin yeah, we support LOCKSS
17:22 axfelix looks like this could be very helpful for monitoring changes in very large files across web applications that normally only communicate via HTTP
17:23 axfelix but that's just a two-minute takeaway
17:23 pdurbin ok. I haven't really dug into it
19:06 pdurbin axfelix: check this out... something called SWORD2++ http://cottagelabs.com/projects/sword-2-plusplus
19:07 pdurbin "This project is a follow-on from the successful SWORD 2.0 project"
19:12 axfelix sounds like they're just building on more example clients for various use cases
19:13 axfelix but that's good for adoption anyhow
19:13 axfelix we managed to replace swordv1 with swordv2 in the main OJS distribution (trying to get a release out next week) without too much pain, and it's nice that it's apparently backward compatible enough, since that makes setting up the DV plugin a fair bit simpler
20:02 pdurbin I asked on the mailing list: [sword-app-tech] SWORD 2++ - http://www.mail-archive.com/sword-app-tech@lists.sourceforge.net/msg00366.html
20:05 pdurbin axfelix: it is nice that it's backwards compatible
21:51 pdurbin curl http://localhost:8983/solr/update/json?commit=true --data-binary @dataverses.json -H 'Content-type:application/json'
21:51 pdurbin messing around with solr again :)
