12:33 pdurbin good morning, #dataverse
14:09 bencomp pdurbin: good morning to you too
14:10 bencomp not such a good morning for http://dataverse-demo.iq.harvard.edu/ today?

14:41 pdurbin hmm. iqlogbot just came back
14:41 * pdurbin wonders if that's a good omen :)
14:43 bencomp does that mean we have to repeat part of this conversation? ;)
14:43 pdurbin heh
14:43 bencomp I was looking for info on limits on dataverse/dataset/data file size
14:45 pdurbin ah. well in 3.x we typically say there's a 2GB limit uploading files from the GUI. I've gotten larger files to upload via the Data Deposit API
14:45 pdurbin for 4.0 there are no limits I'm aware of but that's just because we haven't tested a lot. I hear someone uploaded a 10GB file with the GUI
14:46 bencomp good to know - that's another thing I was looking into.
14:46 bencomp I meant setting limits on how much data someone can upload
14:46 pdurbin oh, there's a JVM option to limit the size the Data Deposit API will accept.
14:47 bencomp we offer DaaS including storage, and some institutions want to allow each researcher e.g. max 50 GB in total
14:48 pdurbin hmm. per researcher
14:49 bencomp I didn't see anything about this kind of limiting in the docs yet
14:51 pdurbin I'm not aware of such limits. Probably safe to go ahead and create a GitHub issue about it. Or if you want to double check with others you could email support@dataverse.org
14:53 bencomp I'll look around and open that issue or send an email
14:54 pdurbin +1
14:54 bencomp thanks
14:54 pdurbin oh sure
14:54 pdurbin bencomp: oh, Merce is in Amsterdam I think. RDA conference
14:54 bencomp speaking of issues: I noticed you opened that one about ORCIDs and ISNIs - thanks

15:34 pdurbin I get emails for some things. New issues, for example.
15:37 bencomp I was looking at the API docs and noticed the richness of event types that can trigger webhooks
15:38 bencomp and pull request…? :)
15:38 pdurbin oh yeah, jeffspies__ has been doing some neat things with github webhooks, I think
15:39 jeffspies__ it's a nice api
