13:58 pdurbin bencomp: I saw! I have a meeting to go to though. Still trying to get us registered with http://www.incommon.org

15:20 pdurbin merged. thanks
15:20 pdurbin but what does it mean? :)
15:36 pdurbin rliebz: I replicated that bug you found.
15:37 pdurbin thanks for reporting it
15:37 rliebz pdurbin: No problem.
15:58 rliebz pdurbin: For differentiating between different Dataverse installations, do you have a preferred term? "Dataverse Host"/"Dataverse Installation"?
16:03 pdurbin rliebz: hmm. I think "installation" sounds fine
16:12 pdurbin rliebz: at http://dataverse.org we call them "Dataverse Repositories"
16:12 pdurbin there are 10 of them listed
16:13 rliebz pdurbin: Perfect. I was going to have to ask for a list of Dataverse repositories at some point
16:52 pdurbin ah

17:12 pdurbin rliebz: what does "Level 1", "Level 2" etc mean? https://github.com/CenterForOpenScience/osf.io/labels
17:13 rliebz pdurbin: Not sure... Judging by the number of open issues, I'd say it's probably something we retired in favor of more self-explanatory labels
17:26 pdurbin rliebz: out of curiousity, do you have a label for how difficult an issue is? if it will take an hour or a day or a week to implement?
17:35 rliebz pdurbin: I don't believe so
17:35 pdurbin axfelix: do you have something like this? a measure of difficulty per github issue?
17:41 rliebz pdurbin: I believe our 1-3 star labels were used for difficulty at some point, but people confused it with priority so we abandoned it.
17:44 pdurbin rliebz: ah, the stars. gotcha
17:45 pdurbin can you tell I'm in a meeting about our development process? :)
17:45 pdurbin it's actually a fun meeting. indian food even :)
17:46 rliebz pdurbin: I can't say I'm surprised
17:53 pdurbin rliebz: we're using this issue you opened as an example: https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/issues/1935 :) wasn't me who brought it up!
17:54 rliebz pdurbin: I'm honored
17:57 pdurbin heh

20:35 pdurbin bencomp: now I know how people felt when I sent them git branching animations... "this looks interesting but what does it mean?" :)
20:44 bencomp hehe
20:47 pdurbin I'll try to take a closer look later.
20:48 bencomp d3 is the best I think. demonstrates concurrent feature development
20:49 bencomp by rebasing, you always have fast-forward merges
