so, newb question time. Can one do a search across multiple repositories, combining results from datasets from different sources? Is that something that dataverse can be capable of?

I am actually working on a proposal involving data, and ran across the dataverse website, which looks very fascinating

Lorka: do the various repositories support OAI-PMH? If so, you could harvest all the content into a Dataverse installation and it would all be searchable there. Info about harvesting is at http://guides.dataverse.org/en/4.5.1/admin/

I am essentially trying to find out if there are tools out there (or in the works) which could enable not only comparison of data within a single repository, but search across multiple reposirories

I am not sure about OAI-PMH situation, but I have added this link to a word doc for myself so I can organize it and start to go over any material you would suggest
