jri: ah, https://catalogues.cdsp.sciences-po.fr is running the latest and greatest version of Dataverse, 4.5.1. Good. And based on our conversation at http://irclog.iq.harvard.edu/dataverse/2016-09-14#i_41179 I assume you are still running multiple Glassfish servers. I wonder if you are affected by https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/issues/3467

pdurbin
telnoratti: are you running multiple glassfish servers?
16:31
telnoratti
Yup, a minimum of 3
16:32
pdurbin
telnoratti: and you're probably running 4.5, judging by https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse-aws/blob/be03037a3137b8a206e8b81f846065dc8bf940af/docker/glassfish/Dockerfile#L53

Oh, we're still on that? I'll nag Joel
16:33
pameyer
tangentially related, but is it normal for "web server in front of glassfish" to relay incorrect http status codes?
16:34
telnoratti
Oh, reading bl, maybe I won't
16:35
pdurbin
pameyer: hmm, not sure. I would hope apache or whatever wouldn't say everything is cool in glassfish land if it isn't
16:36
pameyer
that'd be what I'd expect too
16:36
pdurbin
telnoratti: does your architecture look something like this http://guides.dataverse.org/en/4.5.1/installation/prep.html#advanced-installation ?
16:37
telnoratti
Sans apace and a separate solr server, yes
16:37
pdurbin
ok, interesting
16:38
pdurbin
telnoratti: I'm just wondering if you or jri or anyone else is affected by https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/issues/3467
16:38
jri
I don't think so
16:39
jri
but I'm not very sure how to see if I'm concerned
16:39
telnoratti
I'm at SC16 this week. I see if Joel can spin up a 4.5.1 in aws though
16:39
pdurbin
jri: I don't mean to concern you. :)

@pdurbin: re: #2753 Odum also runs Glassfish in 64GB RAM with a 48GB JVM heap. I typically see about 16-17GB active, 47-48G in buffers/cache and ~1.5G held free. dunno if that's helpful enough to comment on the issue

donsizemore: I'd love for you and jri to compare notes and see if we can prevent him from having to restart Glassfish so often.
