16:08 juancorr @pdurbin morning! (afternoon from Europe).
16:09 juancorr We have some clues about the date exception.
16:09 juancorr We have not found problems in Dataverse operation caused by this exception.
16:09 juancorr Our Dataverse installation is in a computer with an Ubuntu in Spanish and I think that solr takes the Spanish date format.
16:09 juancorr The formatDate method in the DateUtil class take the date in String format not in java Date format. We have avoid the error parsing the Spanish Date format if we found an ParseException in default format, but it is not a solution.
16:12 juancorr Should we open a pull request with our "tricky fix" to Dataverse?
16:13 pdurbin Huh. Interesting.
16:13 pdurbin juancorr: yes, but please create an issue first
16:14 pdurbin donsizemore: https://gitter.im/jupyterhub/binder?at=5c7fe7f98f294b134afaa34d
16:18 donsizemore @pdurbin i'm decently new to kubernetes and the binderhub helm charts don't give us external connectivity
16:36 pameyer I guess it's re-assuring to see I'm not the only one that runs into ingress problems with kubernetes
16:39 donsizemore @pameyer i'm not above apache front-ends.

16:42 pameyer @donsizemore neither am I; but they don't always help me

16:46 pdurbin mod_shib is good for whatever ails you
16:49 pameyer unless what's ailing you is too much xml ;)
16:49 pdurbin touche
16:49 pameyer ... but I'm seriously impressed with how well the shibboleth / mod_shib / dataverse shib holds up to me banging :)
16:51 pdurbin Yeah? Good! :)
17:16 pdurbin Usually you're so good at breaking things. ;)
17:18 jri joined #dataverse
17:21 pameyer very true ;) but when I broke the shib stuff, it turned out to me plugging things together wrong
17:23 pdurbin well, there are a lot of plugs, all different shapes :)
18:57 donsizemore @pameyer have you ever played with EKS
18:59 * pdurbin is happy to give out an EKS account to anyone who wants to try dataverse-kubernetes on it
19:00 pameyer @donsizemore not yet
19:03 donsizemore @pdurbin i mean, i'll be happy to. would be interesting to compare against jupyterhub's EKS behavior
19:04 pdurbin donsizemore: I already gave you an account. :) Want to try out dataverse-kubernetes for me? :)
19:05 donsizemore @pdurbin sure, i'll put it on my list. wrestling with recalcitrant elastic IPs at the moment
19:10 pdurbin donsizemore: thanks! I assigned https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse-kubernetes/issues/12 to you and I'm happy to share some of the "artifacts" mentioned there if you want them.
20:11 pameyer last time I kicked the tires on dataverse-kubernetes, I think I was checking before poikilotherm had things ready
20:12 pdurbin me too
