10:27 poikilotherm Working on other stuff right now
10:27 pdurbin ok
10:28 pdurbin stefankasberger: yesterday chatted a tiny bit with the Renku developers about pyDataverse: https://gitter.im/SwissDataScienceCenter/renku/archives/2019/09/11
11:36 donsizemore joined #dataverse
11:38 stefankasberger @pdurbin: anything to be aware of?
11:43 stefankasberger reagarding renku.
12:22 pdurbin no, not really
12:23 pdurbin I just wanted to put it on your radar that they tried pyDataverse.
12:26 pdurbin donsizemore: mornin'. Remember this conversation? http://irclog.iq.harvard.edu/dataverse/2019-07-08#i_100014 . I did some late night Django hacking on dataverse-installations, bashed on master, and pushed.
12:27 donsizemore @pdurbin coolies. does this mean i should do anything to dataverse-metrics on this end?
12:31 donsizemore @pdurbin also http://ec2-18-232-148-4.compute-1.amazonaws.com:8080/job/IQSS-Dataverse-Develop/1/console
12:47 pdurbin donsizemore: no, sorry. Both dataverse-metrics and dataverse-installations are written in Python but only dataverse-installations is a Django app. I had lunch with someone who really knows Django yesterday, and we formed a plan. MUHAHAHA! And I stayed up too late hacking. No need for you to do anything at this time.
12:47 pdurbin poikilotherm: actually, I'm wondering if I push dataverse-installation to Docker Hub if you would be able to roll it into dataverse-kubernetes.
12:49 pdurbin donsizemore: I clicked the console. Waiting. Might time out.
12:49 donsizemore i killed it
12:52 pdurbin ah, ok :)
13:07 poikilotherm Hey guys, I'm back :-)
13:08 poikilotherm pdurbin: tell me more?
13:09 poikilotherm It is relatively easy to put Django app in a container
13:31 pdurbin poikilotherm: well, for starters, please read about the new dataverse-installations repo at https://scholar.harvard.edu/pdurbin/blog/2019/jupyter-notebooks-and-crazy-ideas-for-dataverse
13:31 * poikilotherm goes reading
13:34 pdurbin thanks
13:35 donsizemore @pdurbin good news, bad news http://ec2-54-91-182-216.compute-1.amazonaws.com:8080/job/IQSS-Dataverse-Develop/1/console
13:35 donsizemore error - setupIT failure
13:36 donsizemore the good news part is you may now review my pull request
15:08 pdurbin donsizemore: great! About the pull request being ready for review. :) Do you want me to spin it up?
15:14 donsizemore sure thing. i gave it $ ec2/ec2-create-instance.sh -b 15_ansible_role -r https://github.com/OdumInstitute/dataverse-jenkins.git -g ~/group_vars/dataverse-jenkins.yml
15:14 pdurbin thanks!
