11:54 poikilotherm Not much fingers raised then...
12:02 pdurbin Yeah, I'm not surprised. :)
12:03 pdurbin I just opened this: https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse-kubernetes/pull/162 :)
12:24 poikilotherm :-D
12:24 poikilotherm I was wondering if I should create a related materials section
12:25 poikilotherm Glad you like the slides
12:26 poikilotherm I hoped that I could transport a message of we're all in the same boat, pushing things and want to make it all awesome.
12:31 pdurbin related materials?
12:31 pdurbin You mean like dataverse-docker?
12:34 pdurbin poikilotherm: hey so one of the guys in this picture wants to know when you'll be going into production: https://twitter.com/philipdurbin/status/1223987847222431744 . And I think he has lots of questions. I might see if I can get him to join us in this channel. :)
12:41 poikilotherm Related as in see this other projects, see this slides and talks etc. I still plan on doing screencasts for DataverseTV
12:41 poikilotherm About that guy: I'm trying really hard to get things done this or next week.
12:42 poikilotherm You will see when I open a PR for dataverse-installations
12:45 pdurbin poikilotherm: speaking of that repo, do you have time to add two installations to the map? Please see https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse-installations/issues/42

13:09 donsizemore @poikilotherm @pdurbin remember when I said things for me had gotten quiet? I got whomped on yesterday afternoon. Let me dig my way out and I can take a look at Anchore and dataverse-installations
13:11 poikilotherm Mornin' donsizemore! Maybe we shouldn't have talked about it... Who knows you reads the logs of this public channel ;-)
13:11 poikilotherm Thank you for taking a look :-)
13:12 poikilotherm pdurbin: I'm afraid I don't have the time :-(
13:13 poikilotherm My daughter hurt herself and I need to look after her. Plus moving things to production...

13:41 pdurbin donsizemore: no need to work on adding new installations to the map. Sherry just jumped in. Thanks!
13:43 pdurbin pkiraly: I went to this talk by two guys from Göttingen and it was really interesting. They talked about CDStar. Afterwards, I gave one of them a card and they were aware of your installation of Dataverse. This talk: https://fosdem.org/2020/schedule/event/open_research_secure_health_data/

14:17 pkiraly pdurbin: yes, CDSTAR is developed by my colleagues. We use it alongside with Dataverse in different projects.
14:19 pkiraly It doesn't have a user interface, only an API, so usually we embed it into other systems, or we create a custom interface for it e.g. in Drupal
15:03 pdurbin pkiraly: do you know the speakers for that talk? I'm sure Göttingen is a big place. :)
15:09 pkiraly pdurbin: yes, I know them. Markus already tried Dataverse last year, and we had some discussions on it.
15:11 pkiraly pdurbin: I have a question. I tried to work with the big data support, but without success. One of the researchers need this feature, so I am thinking of some temporary solutions while I figure out how to make data capture module work.
15:13 pkiraly pdurbin: I could find a way to upload files to the server. What do you think: is there a way in the Dataverse API to "register" or "bound" files to a dataset. By "register" or "bound" I mean, that there is no upload, or any file operation, only adding the file path and file metadata to the dataset.
15:15 pdurbin pkiraly: one workaround we've used is to upload a tiny file to Dataverse and then afterwards replace the file on disk and update the md5 in the database. Does that make sense?
15:17 pkiraly pdurbin: Good idea! Thanks a lot
15:18 pdurbin It's a hack but it should work. :)

15:45 pdurbin Jim81: mornin'. Did anyone forward that email from Herbert to you?
16:23 pdurbin donsizemore: hoboy. Do you have a moment to talk about https://groups.google.com/d/msg/dataverse-community/EiGfqadLMIU/tRLH8Y3dEgAJ ? Shib stuff.
17:25 pdurbin donsizemore: nevermind. Jim81 replied (thanks!) and I just followed up with my own take.
17:37 Jim81 pdurbin - I did get something from Merce with Herbert's comments. It didn't cc Herbert so I was going to reply back to her and hopefully get a multi-way email going.
17:47 pdurbin Jim81: ok, I'm glad you have those detailed comments. Thanks!
