poikilotherm1: sorry, I was in and out a lot yesterday. A lot of us were participating in https://www.shutdownstem.com

Morning pdurbin
14:27
poikilotherm1
I might be a bit unresponsive today as I have my hands dirty with sand and concrete
14:28
pdurbin
Heh. No worries. Are you still blocked on not knowing where to add docs about groups?
14:32
poikilotherm1
Kinda. Yesterday while hacking on that filter I thought I'll just go ahead and create an admin guide page about groups and leave the user guide all alone, just open an issue about it been missing
14:33
poikilotherm1
But I still wonder if this is beyond scope and should be splitter from the new group provider code
14:33
poikilotherm1
splitted. Autocorrect :-/
14:34
pdurbin
split off
14:34
pdurbin
I mean, shib groups should stay on the shib page, right?
14:36
pdurbin
Who can create email groups? Just superusers?
14:36
pdurbin
Normal users can create explicit groups, I think.
14:36
poikilotherm1
I think so. But they deserve linking don't they?
14:38
poikilotherm1
I would take the existing ip group page and rename it. Then extend it with all those shiny things available.
14:39
poikilotherm1
I'm aware of Built-in, IP , mail domain, explicit global and local. Link to Shibboleth groups in Shib section.
14:40
poikilotherm1
Email groups are like IP groups admin only
14:40
poikilotherm1
And they're global
14:40
poikilotherm1
Normal users can, if they are admin in it, create a group in their dataverse
14:40
poikilotherm1
But global explicit is different IIRC
14:41
poikilotherm1
It's not very well documented :-D
14:42

The IP Groups page isn't very long so I agree that it could be renamed and expanded. We'd need to fix any links to the old page, of course.
14:46
poikilotherm1
Ha no I'll leave those broken XD
14:46

poikilotherm1: do you want to work on this while you're in there? https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/issues/2412
14:51
poikilotherm1
LOL there is an issue for this thing already
14:51
poikilotherm1
Ok so should we split off the documentation of mail domain groups then? Or should I add a temporary docs page to be merged with the new groups page later?
14:51
poikilotherm1
The PR is already quite big...
14:53
pdurbin
Maybe for now you could make a dedicated page for email groups, just like the dedicated page for IP Groups. And in the future, we could consolidate them.
14:58
poikilotherm1
I just assigned the issue to me...
15:01
poikilotherm1
Yes Sir :-)
15:02
pdurbin
poikilotherm1: no pressure to work on that, really. I was just looking to see if there are any open issues about docs for groups.
15:05
poikilotherm1
Well it's mostly a reminder so it does not get lost in the deluge of issues
15:06
pdurbin
so many issues

We are trying to publish 4 dataset in our Dataverse Repository and we get the following message "Register/update file persistent identifiers workflow in progress – Publish workflow in progress" And the "Publish" bottom is desactivated Do you know which can be the reason for this? and how can we solve it? Hello everyone
23:17
dataverse-user73
My dataverse is showing the following message when I try to publish a dataset: Register/update file persistent identifiers workflow in progress – Publish workflow in progress
23:18
dataverse-user73
Do you guys have any idea why is this happening?

dataverse-user73
I've published datasets in the past and this didn't happen
