15:24 poikilotherm The last point is nothing less than asking for an architecture shift :-D
15:25 poikilotherm (That presentation isn't finished yet, would love to see some feedback)
15:27 poikilotherm (hmm let me rephrase that - feedback welcome. no one feel obliged please)
15:31 pdurbin Your goal is very much in line with https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/issues/2739 of course. It's a shame we lost momentum on that effort but it's nice to see renewed energy.
15:31 Virgile sorry, couldn't attempt this time again... I was presenting our futur data repo in a meeting ^^ and it seems that Dataverse will also be installed as "national data repo" before the end of the year :)
15:32 pdurbin Virgile: fantastic!
15:32 pdurbin Virgile: I forget, is your installation on the map at https://dataverse.org/installations already?
15:33 Virgile not yet, because it's not in production yet
15:33 pdurbin ah, makes sense
15:34 Virgile in france, there should be 4 Dataverses that should pop up with 2021 : 2 Universities, 1 scientific instance and the national one
15:35 pdurbin that's awesome
15:37 Virgile these news just blowed up a server it seems ^^
15:37 pdurbin d'oh!

15:47 elivi Hello :) I'm quite new to Dataverse and was wondering if there currently is the possibility to have data exposed via Dataverse stored in Azure (e.g. Azure Data Lake, Azure Files etc.). Thanks a lot for any hint!
15:48 pdurbin elivi: hi! I'm refreshing myself on https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/issues/4247 and https://github.com/gdcc/dataverse-kubernetes/issues/108

15:50 pdurbin elivi: in that first issue last summer someone asked "Is the most viable option at this point to use a S3 wrapper like what MinIO provides if we want to use Dataverse on Azure Blob?" It looks like we never heard back.
15:51 pdurbin Something like that, S3 compatibility on the Azure side, is probably the best approach to try.
15:52 pdurbin Here are the relevant docs: https://guides.dataverse.org/en/5.3/installation/config.html#amazon-s3-storage-or-compatible
15:56 elivi Thank you so much for your quick feedback, that's awesome!
15:56 elivi So I understand that there is no "native" connection to Azure storage in Dataverse, but there is a way to make your Azure storage look like an Amazon S3 one
15:56 pdurbin Sure. I hope it helps.
15:57 pdurbin Well, I don't know much about Azure storage but that's what that person in the issue is saying, that's there's some sort of S3 compatibility mode.
15:57 elivi Ok that makes sense. Thanks a lot

17:48 pdurbin poikilotherm: so, back to your slides. You'll be glad to know that the "multiple license support" proposal is quite flexible in that any license can be added (with an optional logo).

21:25 nightowl313 hi all ... wondering if anyone knows if we can modify the mapping of fields in our OAI feed in dataverse? our lms team is trying to harvest records and is getting some duplication of fields
21:39 nightowl313 i see that we can create sets of records using queries to define the records that we want to be allowed to harves, but I don't see that there is any way to change the layout/mapping of those records (ie: restricting certain fields, etc)
21:47 nightowl313 does that have to be done via datacite api?
22:03 nightowl313 more reading .. i think dataverse just offers the default mapping of common formats (ie: Dublin Core, DDI) and currently doesn't allow customization of those mappings, right?
22:09 nightowl313 the confusion/duplication is on the author, creator, contributor fields ... creator and contributor get mapped to the same thing in primo, so there is duplication
