this replace metadata function (http://guides.dataverse.org/en/latest/api/sword.html#id17 ) is only valid for dcterms? I was wondering if I can replace ddi metadata also, like for a test: export ddi metadata from a dataset and replace in another dataset.

rebecabarros: no, sorry, you can't created or edit datasets with DDI. Your choices are dcterms (SWORD XML ) or Dataverse's "native" JSON format.
